Cas breathed in carefully as she closed her eyes. A cool breeze blew by and she welcomed it gladly. It made her hair trail behind her as she enjoyed the feeling on her skin. She was in a jean capris and a t-shirt that promoted the band Rise Against. She had been so stressed out lately and she needed to get away. So she went to the first and only place she could think of...the forest. She was after all the daughter of Artemis: the Goddess of the Moon and of the Hunt. So for some reason she felt more at home when she was in the forest.
She had noticed a certain change in herself lately. She wasn't the same cynical and jaded person she had been when she had first arrived at Camp Half-Blood. She was now calmer, cooler and nicer. She couldn't seem to understand where the change had come from. She just attributed it to her becoming more mature and even growing up. so when she heard a twig snap she didn't even flinch and it didn't even face her. It was more then likely an animal who had just been wandering.
She smiled when she saw a flash of silver. It was her pet peregrine falcon Tanner. She reached out her arm and he landed gently on her wrist and she wasn't even wearing a glove. His talons were careful not to scratch her skin and she just began to stroke him lovingly. She chuckled lightly as she glanced up at the sky. "You can come out now!" she called out into the forest. She had heard someone walking in the forest but didn't want to scare them so she acted as if she had heard nothing. She knew they would come out when they were read and she would wait til then

YOU SAID THAT WE’D BE FOREVER ( HOW COULD YOU KILL ME AND LIE TO MY FACE ) NOW THAT WE CAN'T BE TOGETHERSpencer stopped, looking around him. This was probably the first time in a long time that he'd come into the forest without spinning a knife in his hand as he walked. It was probably the first time he'd ever come into the forest completely unarmed. He was actually starting to notice things he hadn't noticed before when he was so preoccupied with not cutting himself on the blade. The thinner parts of the woods in broad daylight were really pretty and kind of mystifying in their own way. He would never come in here unarmed at night though. He wasn't exactly a fan of getting eaten by monsters that come out to play at night. That was also partially the reason that he stayed away from the thicker parts of the woods, no matter how bright the sunshine was.
He saw something silver flash by in his peripheral vision. He passed it off as just one of those 'seeing things' moments. Then he stepped on a dried branch, breaking it in half with a crack loud enough to wake the dead. Or at least it seemed that loud in the quiet of the forest in the early afternoon. Almost immediately a voice called in what seemed like a response to his branch-breaking. You can come out now! It was definitely a girl's voice, but it didn't sound like the generic tree spirit girl voice. It sounded more like the voice of a camper. There was still the possibility it was just one of the tree nymph creature-things playing tricks again.
He began to walk in the general direction of the voice. Eventually he saw a bit of a clearing with a girl, definitely a camper, and some type of large bird of prey. He was good with weapons and war, but when it came to birds, he was lost beyond 'bird of prey' and 'not a bird of prey'. "That's a nice bird you've got. If you don't mind, what kind is it? I've never been good with birds." He probably sounded like a major dumbass, but he was actually interested in what kind of bird it was. He was just glad she didn't know he was an Athena kid yet. Then he'd look even dumber. His excuse? You can't know everything, despite the fact that one of his mom's symbols was an owl.
"Hey, I'm Spencer, son of Athena. You?" he said, deciding to go ahead and get that out of the way before he forgot and remembered two hours after the conversation was over. He'd done that one more than once and felt really stupid when he had to track the person down based on a physical description just to ask their name. He leaned against a tree, waiting for her reply.

Cas laughed when he commented on her bird. She then looked at the bird as it clicked its beak a couple of times and then took off into the air. He began to fly around the two of them as Cas flipped her hair out of her eyes. She then walked over to the boy who she didn't quite recognize from the Camp. "Thank you. He's a Peregrine Falcon and his name is Tanner." she explained as she made it over to him with no problems whatsoever. Tanner then stopped flying around and landed gracefully on her arm as she gently stroked his feathers and then smiled unconsciously.
She then looked up and actually saw who she was looking at. It was a boy and a cute one at that. After staring at him for a few seconds she looked down blushing slightly as a result. She shook her head, trying to push past the embarrassment she felt and looked at him as he introduced himself. "Well, My name is Cassandra or Cas. I am the one and only Artemis camper" she joked as she laughed lightly at the small fact that she was the only one in her cabin or even in her existence. She saw him lean against a tree as she tilted her head at him.
Tanner clicked his beak a couple more times as she gave him a look. "Shh, that's rude. And if you want it so badly why don't you just ask?" she told the bird as he flapped his wings a couple of times. Cas then sighed heavily as she turned her attentions back to Spencer. "I'm sorry if this seems very rude or even forward of me but my bird here would like for you to pet him" she explained as Tanner flew forward and then landed on her outstretched wrist. "It's alright, he won't hurt you. He says there's something about you that is alluring to him. Maybe its because you're mom is Athena?" she joked with a smile as her hand momentarily touched his.
she had her arm outstretched and reached out and stretched out his arm so that the falcon could land on that properly. But she never took her hands off of his wist in case Tanner wanted to fly away or Spencer got uncomfortable with having he bird on his wrist
