APPEARANCE
esme doesn't have the most feminine form in the world. hesphaestus children are usually quite large and sturdy, and esme isn't really an exception. compared to most girls, she is pretty big. she's five foot eight and has very broad shoulders, giving her a rather intimidating form. as far as body shape, esme does have curves, though they aren't very obvious. she is muscular, mostly in her arms from working with heavy metals in the forge. esme's form isn't too masculine, though, so you can still tell she's a girl. if you can't tell from her body, it's pretty obvious when you look at her face. she has a rectangular face and a dimpled chin, but that's where the masculinity in her face stops. her eyes are bright, accentuated by angular eyebrows. esme's nose is small, sloping into a point. her lips are full, but not too large, fitting her face very well.
WARDROBE whenever esme is outside of camp, which is very rarely, her wardrobe doesn't change from when she is at camp. faded, torn jeans are a part of her daily outfits, usually a stained or slightly singed camp tee going over it. her other shirts comprise of her mothers old college and high school shirts. when trying to look nice, esme will wear a nicer pair of jeans and a more fashionable shirt, maybe even a sweater. she has never had to attend anything remotely formal, but she probably wouldn't know how to dress. esme is practically the complete opposite of aphrodite's children when it comes to fashion. she'd take working in the forges over shopping any day.

SECRETS
esme harbors a lot of anger towards her family, or her mortal family. she is extremely jealous of her younger sister, who gets to stay with her mom. if you ask her about it, she'll feign peace with the subject. in all honesty, esme gets very upset when she thinks about it. this anger can come out in random, unprovoked outbursts that she later regrets.
OVERALL PERSONALITY
when someone first meets esme, they are immediately hit with her optimistic nature and natural ability to lighten any situation. n matter what she's doing, esme almost always has a smile on her face, unlike her serious brothers. she's not somebody to get bothered to put down easily, so it's pretty hard to wipe the stupid grin off of her face. of course, somebody that frickin' happy can't help but feel the need to constantly share it with other people. when new campers show up in various cabins, esme takes it upon herself to be a one-woman welcoming committee of sorts. she's always there to offer up a warm greeting and try to make them more comfortable.
esme is pretty much a goofball, finding laughter to be the best medicine. if one of her friends even has the slightest hint of a frown on their face, esme won't hesitate to dance like a retard or make lame knock-knock jokes. she'll do anything to make her friends happy, even if it means laughter at her own expense. that's just the kind of person she is. esme is extremely loyal, putting her friends above everything else, including her own personal needs. when she's supposed to be making blades and battle armor, she'll create little knick knacks for her friends. she'd rather be surrounded by contended people then work toward her own happiness.
though it is very hard to upset esme, it can be done. the only times she tends to lose her smile is when people belittle her. esme isn't the strongest when it comes to battles and such, even though she is rather good with a blade; though, all of hesphaestus' children are. also, compared to most of her siblings, esme is a bit on the small side. she doesn't have the raw power of her brothers. her lithe form usually makes people underestimate her right off the bat, angering the girl quite a bit.
esme isn't the smartest girl, either. she doesn't have a very quick wit, leaving her to understand simple things a lot harder than others. she absolutely hates when people act like they are smarter than her, automatically making them better than her. even though she is all smiles, esme can get pretty ugly when she's angry. it's usually for the better, though, driving her to do better and excel at her weak points.

OLYMPIAN PARENT hesphaestus.
MORTAL PARENT alexandira hannah bradley, age thirty-four.
SIBLINGS gwynneth angelica bradley, age six.
OTHER IMPORTANT PEOPLE none.
ORIGIN chicago, illinois.
HISTORY alexandria bradley had always been a bit of a wild child. growing up in a strict, christian household led her to become a reckless teenager. she was pretty and popular, so it wasn't exactly hard for her to find parties at a young age. she did all of this in secret, managing to stay away from the protective gaze of her parents. it wasn't until alexandria was seventeen that everything was shoved into the open, a pregnancy revealing her after school activities. you see, when alexandria was seventeen, she met hesphaestus. it wasn't actually at a party, though that was where alexandria spent her time. it was on the way home from a party, when the two just casually bumped in the street. hesphaestus was easily smitten with the teen, somehow drawn to her bubbly attitude and overall thirst for life. thinking about it now, esme was sure hesphaestus would've spent some time attempting to court or woo her mother, but alexandria was a pretty eager. honestly, it didn't take long for her to fall for him and end up getting herself pregnant. also, it didn't take long for hesphaestus to leave, after having a long talk with alexandria about who he was and what would happen to the baby.
alexandria was terrified at first, but she eventually got over her fear and accepted that she was pregnant with a child of a god. her family, however, wasn't too thrilled about the whole deal. the fact that alexandria refused to reveal the father of the child only worsened the situation, leading to her eventual disowning from the bradley family. just a few months shy of graduating, being kicked out of her own home, alexandria found refuge with more lenient relatives in chicago. she got a crappy job as a waitress at a local restaurant until the baby was born.
esme corinna bradley was born on december 23rd, a cold day her mother swore immediately brightened when she was born. that statement pretty summed up esme's relationship with her mother the first several years of her life. the two were attached at the hip, one rarely leaving the other. alexandria's partying tendencies seemed to end, for the time being, finding herself to focus more on being a good mother. even when esme was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia shortly after beginning school, alexandria was very supportive of her daughter.
from a young age, esme could tell she was a different from most children. the ADHD and dyslexia made her feel like a weirdo from the beginning, but it was the little things that really stood out of her. while the other kids played with crayons or basketballs, esme was building things out of paper clips. greek mythology piqued her interest, causing her to try and struggle through reading mythologic tales while her other classmates read goosebumps and junie. b. jones books. the other kids noticed these things, too, choosing to avoid esme most of the time. she was fine with this, growing into an optimistic girl under the care of her mother. esme was fine with any, as long as her mother was there.
alexandria began managed to obtain a GED and enroll in college once esme began school. everything was going smoothly, until a semester of her final year. the accounting class she was taking was particularly difficult. when the final, failing grade popped up on her transcript, something in alexandria snapped. the weeks following, the woman returned to her partier ways, leaving a nine year old esme to fend for herself at home. esme was a bit wary of it all at first, though she eventually became used to it. she was sure her mother would snap out of everything eventually. unfortunately for her, she did, but only after a one night stand and a positive pregnancy test.
esme was thrilled to have a little sister. her mother, on the other hand, had issues with having two children. having to retake her last year of university, working as a waitress, and already having a daughter with dyslexia and ADHD was a stress for the young woman. having to take care of another girl only made alexandria realize that maybe she was taking on too much responsibility. that was when alexandria made the decision to take esme to camp halfblood.
alexandria had made an attempt to juggle all of her responsibilities. unfortunately, that was when the monsters began to show up. the monsters never really did anything, but esme still saw them. for a ten year old, that was terrifying enough. the monsters seemed to be the final straw. alexandria drove all the way to long island, dropping esme off at half blood hill. she had made an attempt to tell esme about who her father was, but the girl never really understood what she talking about until she made her way to the big house.
the news wasn't really all that surprising to esme, since she always figured she was different. it was just the abandonment from her mother that kept her in a constant haze the first few weeks there. tt wasn't until esme was claimed by her father that she snapped out of it. now, six years later, esme still keeps in touch with her mom and younger sister, gwynneth. if you ask her about it, she wouldn't trade her life at camp for the world.

korey had a love/hate relationship with the amphitheater. it was a pretty cool place, she had to admit. when nobody was around, it was an ideal thinking spot. it held the sort of silence that was warm and welcoming, just the way the demigod liked it. it was easy to just sit down and get away from the world; away from her training and chores, which she happened to be currently skipping out on. other campers rarely came to bother her whenever she managed to escape to the amphitheater. all in all, korey pretty much loved the place. it was good times. oh, how she hated the singalongs, though. seriously, who the fuck had decided on camp singalongs?
laying on the stage area of the theater, korey shuddered at the thought of the torturous melodies as she absentmindedly cleaned her wrist blades. yeah. she had wrist blades, like an assassin. just cleaning the things made her feel badass. when she sat in the camp singalongs, though, she wanted to impale herself on the things; she hated it that badly. she'd rather be in exiled to live in tartarus then sit through them.
well, she didn't hate them that much, but it was pretty close.
korey sat up, sheathing her blades. she let out a contented sigh. the sun was shining on her little piece of heaven, a pleasant warmth laying over her body. the familiar smell of strawberries permeated throughout the air. even though she never acted like it, it was the moments like then that made korey absolutely adore camp halfblood. not the people or anything, not the things that went on at the camp. just the actual camp.
the place was absolutely gorgeous, which any person could easily appreciate. the architecture, the lake, the forest; it was all breathtaking. the sweet scent of the strawberry fields only topped it all off. from time to time, korey found herself reveling in the beauty, even though she had been around it for four years. she never got tired of it. she highly doubted she ever would.
korey pushed stray strands of blonde hair from her face. crossing her legs indian style, korey let her guard down in the slightest. she allowed a ghost of a smile to cross her face. she leaned back on her palms, tilting her head back to let the sunlight hit her face. taking in a deep breath, she cleared her mind, just soaking everything in and forgetting about the world.
oh, how she loved the amphitheater.
