Place: Private school in New York Reason: Class had september off, not July and August. (rich private school) |
Chloe watched the clock. You would think after fighting monsters and having an everyday struggle for your very life they wouldn't go to school. Chloe really wanted to hit Chiron with her chemistry textbook at the moment. Chloe was the youngest in all her classes because she skipped two grades, but that didn't mean she got along with the eighteen year olds. She thanked Zeus as she stood with all her books in hand when the bell rang. She had been ready to leave after five minutes of her boring chemistry teacher talking. Chloe was either having an ADHD attack, or Chronos just hated her. Time had seemed to pass slowly throughout the day and Chloe was relieved to leave her classroom.
She slipped out of her classroom first and didn't look back. It was summer outside, but she was stuck at the stupid school until the school year ended. She had been counting the days since January. She had twelve more days of torture before she could just spend her whole summer at Camp Halfblood. Chloe walked out the front doors, she didn't bed to go to her locker, it was empty. She had cleaned it out at the fifteen day mark, she didn't want to do it later. She felt the sun hit her tan skin. Summer hadn't really started yet, but Chloe already had her summer tan. She flicked a piece of blond hair out of her face. She looked down at herself in discust. She still wore her public school uniform. She wanted to burn it but she would have to wait twelve days for her dreams to be completed, that and she would have a nice bonfire.
Chloe clutched her books close to her. She had her backpack over one shoulder, but her functions textbook hadn't fit in her bag. She fixed her kilt as she walked down the front steps of the school. She hadn't expected such nice weather, it was probably the Gods mocking the Demi-Gods who still had school. Chloe pouted as she stomped over to a group of tenth graders. She was their age, but she was a social outcast for being smart. They quickly scatter once she got within earshot. Chloe frowned, she couldn't hang out with other students her age, or students in her grade. She pulled down her kilt as she pictured herself popular at school. She sighed, she wasn't use to be hated. At camp she was always the first to be picked for anything, heck, people even fought over her. Chloe slammed her textbook on a park bench as she sat down in frustration. She hated mortals, almost as much as her dad.

It was three-thirty in the afternoon and Eve found that this school was more crowded than a mall on a Saturday. The worst part was that every child wore the same colours, the same trousers, the same crest on the right chest of their vests. "So this is what its like to wear a uniform." Eve mused aloud as she pushed passed a giddy group of thirteen year old ninth graders. Although Eve did not attend this high school, she blended in well. Chiron had send her to escort Chloe Summers, daughter of Zeus. Due to the fact that they were both head of their cabins they were peripherally aware of one another, however they have never said more that half a dozen words to each other.
Eve scanned the many faces and heads in the swarms of school children, searching for Chloe. It took her almost fifteen minutes to spot the golden blonde. As Eve was warned, Chloe did not look happy. I wouldn't be happy either if I had to spend all day in this prison. She commented light heartedly to herself. She approached the daughter of Zeus with a smile, curious if she would have any idea why Eve was here.
"It's time." Eve stated simply as she took a seat on the bench next to where Chloe was standing. There was a large tree a few feet away whose shadow provided partial shade for Eve, "Ready to get out of here?" Eve had never been asked to escort any of the children of the big three before and she was ecstatic when Chiron had asked her. Eager to "move up the ranks", Eve had leap at the opportunity. Hopefully everything would run smoothly on their way back to camp.

Chloe felt the person sit down before she heard them, it was no surprise to her, Chloe was a demigod and was use to using her senses. She could feel the pressure on the bench so she turned to look at the girl by turning her head right around and leaning back on the bench. She looked familiar but the other girl wasn't wearing the stupid uniform that the had to wear. Chloe flicked a piece of her blonde hair out of her face. Her hair was in a head band, despite her teachers obvious distaste that it wasn't in a bun, but she didn't really care what old snobs thought anyway. She gave a smile to the girl, she wanted to say hi, but before she could, she heard a group of grade 10's start to laugh. Chloe turned so that her body was facing the back of the bench and saw them pointing at her, obviously cracking a joke at her. She rolled her eyes and held back her anger and sorrow. She really just wanted to send a strong gust of wind in their direction and send them all on their butt, but instead she curled her hands into fists and looked back at the girl. She was surprised she was still there.
That was when she heard her speak to Chloe directly. "It's time. Are your ready to get out of here?" That was when she realized where she saw this girl before. She was a cabin leader of the Minor Gods back at camp. She breathed out a sigh and responded weakly. "You have no idea." She figured that Chiron had sent her to pick her up. Well, she knew that they were just her ride back to camp, but usually Chiron told them they were her protection. Chloe held in an eye roll. She hated how Chiron expected Chloe to be in danger all the time because she was a daughter of the big three. She also hated how she was always labeled as "the big three" but what did that really mean. Yeah, sure Zeus was her jackass dad, but that didn't mean Chloe was going to be eaten by monsters every second of the day. It was true, the stronger the demigod, the more monsters they attracted, but the stronger the demigod, the more they could protect themselves. Chloe was no exception. She was different from her siblings, they usually controlled static electricity or the stronger ones lighting. Chloe had never been able to do that stuff, she did have the ability, but she couldn't control it making her a danger hazard. Chiron told her it was because she had an abnormal amount of power to actually summon the lightning, but couldn't actually control the power she summoned. She could control the wind way better than her siblings though. There were always perks to having a strong dad, but she still hated him. She guessed she was so strong because Zeus spent more time than usual with her mom, but she still hated him. But she still hated him. "Can you even drive?" The girl looked young... that and she hated demigod drivers, they had ADHD and Dyslexia, never a good combo with driving.

Chloe seemed extremely relieved to leave the campus. Much to Eve surprise, the pretty blonde next to her did not seem popular among her peers. Eve listened closely to what the gaggle of girls was giggling at - Chloe Summers. Eve let out a small laugh as she stood up from the bench and began making the way through the thinning crowd to the parking lot. "They don't actually mean what they say." She said flatly to Chloe who was walking half a step behind her. Eve was graced with the ability to tell when someone was lying and it was quite clear that Chloe's peers did not actually dislike the girl as much as they let on.
The two girls walked in silence for only a heartbeat when Chloe implied question to her driving skills. "Excuse me, missy, of course I can drive." Eve let out a chuckle as they crossed the parking lot and stopped in front of a shiny, black Chysler. She could feel slight uneasy emanating from Chloe. "Don't worry - I'm not actually that ADHA. You really need learn to have a little faith." Eve opened the passenger door for Chloe before crossing the front of the car and getting in on the driver side. She nimbly slid into the seat and tossed her blonde hair back.
"But now that I think about it, I don't blame you. Most of us are pretty crappy drivers." She admitted with a light-hearted laugh. With that, Eve put the keys into the admission and started the car. She put the gear in drive and pulled out of her parking spot smoothly. She turned and smiled at her passenger before she made a sharp right exited the parking lot; the private school shrinking in the distance.
