Time: After Lunch Season: Early summer Weather: Sunny, hot, humid and smoggy (they are in Newyork ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Gabe lifted his hand to shade himself from the sun that was beating down on him since it was the noon sun. It was boiling outside, but Gabe didn't mind the heat, heck he actually liked the sun. He enjoyed the feeling of bliss that the surrounding plants gave off as Gabe slowly walked back to the Demeter cabin from the Mess hall. He was planning on taking a quick nap after lunch but he also really wanted to take a detour towards the strawberry field where he hoped to find Gwen. he walked past the big House and saw the shade of the porch. Gabe stopped his slow walk and just stared quite simply at the big house. It was inviting him to go and take a seat on the rocking chair that sat in the welcoming shadows. Gabe didn't mind the heat, but he liked the Shade better. he looked around to see if maybe Dionysus was watching and made a quick run to the porch. He sat comfortably on the rocking chair and sighed in relaxation. He smiled and slowly closed his eyes and felt his consciousness slowly drift away into the calmness of sleep.
Gabe's eyes snapped open as he heard the bossy voice of Dionysus approaching, there was no mistaking the tone in his voice that he wasn't happy... As always. He could tell he was bickering with Chiron about some thing, (probably kids) but Gabe took no real notice as he stood up and saw the outlines of the two of them, that scratched his escape plan, for if he ran, they would see him for sure. Gabe panicked and opened the door that led inside the house. He knew that the two directors would be heading for the house so Gabe quickly ran upstairs to sit in the attic, not really looking around but keeping a narrow mind. He sighed as he saw the artifacts of past heroes. He paced around the room slowly as h heard voices downstairs. Gabe absently fingered a mace chain with his index finger as he waited for the sounds to slowly fade. He walked past a minoutar horn picked it up and weighed it in his hand. He was surprised how heavy it was and put it back down. Gabe heard the door click closed as Chiron and Dionysus left for somewhere. Gabe was relieved as he slowly walked towards the trapdoor. He accidentally bumped something, but took no notice. He opened the trap door and peered down before he saw turquoise mist flow past his into the opening below. He gasped, he forgot about the oracle of Delphie.
He turned quickly as he saw the mummy like figure of a once alive girl. He had never really seen her, and now wished he never had. She had a creepy expression plastered on her face and he thought she smelled a bit like mold. He saw she wore a dress like thing with turquoise hints. He smiled at her and said shakily. "You are looking good." His voice shook just a tad, he just squatted where he was and was surprised when she spoke to no one inspecific but stared straight ahead.
"to the land surrounded by water 4 halfbloods shall go to find the one that commands the monsters so through water, caves and trees one shot down, falls to their knees A decision to make, one may fall it is up to the rest to answer the call for in this journey it is not all for one but one for all"
Her voice reminded Gabe of a piece of dry grass flapping in the wind but pushed the thought aside. Had she just given him a quest? He didn't know what to say. She gave him a quick glance and looked past him to the door of the big house and said in her normal hazy voice. "Your leader approaches" Gabe looked from the oracle to the door, he wished that Chiron or Dionysus would just catch him already because he had no real idea what to do. He guessed that he would be caught now since they were his leader technically. Gabe stood up and was about to climb the steps down to the main floor when the door slowly opened to reveal Gwen. Gabe gasped a little as he felt a dry boney hand on his shoulder. His shirt was pretty new, it said save the Lygers on it and was a soft yellow. He really liked it but he guessed he would have to wash it multiple times to get the smell of dead corpse mold off of it. Gabe's arm hair stood on end when her eerie voice echoed behind him close to his ear. The oracle repeated herself and ran back to her resting place and became stiff yet again with out another word. Her voice echoed softly in Gwen and Gabe's ears. Gwen was his leader?
The oracles WOrds bounced around the room making it seem like an Omen. "to the land surrounded by water 4 halfbloods shall go to find the one that commands the monsters so through water, caves and trees one shot down, falls to their knees A decision to make, one may fall it is up to the rest to answer the call for in this journey it is not all for one but one for all"

is it about time?OH, YES IT IS! IT REALLY IS!let's get this party started! MY HANDS ARE SHAKING! Gwendolyn exited the Mess Hall with a full stomach. Was it sad that she liked food more than most people? Probably, she answered herself. She only thought about that for a moment before shrugging it off. She didn't care at all about how she got along with people. She didn't need friends. she could take care of herself. Being a child of Ares, she had to have this sort of attitude. It was in her blood and her father wouldn't accept her if she allowed herself to be weak.
She though of this as she passed the Big House. Gwen could see someone in the ricking chair on the porch. Is that Gabe? she asked herself. She was at a distance, but her eyesight was good enough to make out who the boy was. Oh geez. Gabe, she thought to herself, shaking her head. She wondered what would happen if Dionysus caught him? And just as she thought of that, see saw Dionysus and Chiron heading for the Big House. You huge dweeb, she though, shaking her head at Gabe. He's going to kill you. Luckily, Gabe noticed this too. He didn't run off, but rather slipped inside the Big House. Eh, better than getting caught running away. There were probably some good spots he could hide in, in the Big House.
She saw Mr. D and Chiron head into the house, silently hoping that Gabe had found a hiding spot. She then walked over to the Big House, leaning against the railing on the opposite side of the porch. Gwen would wait here until Dionysus and Chiron left, then would run inside and try to find Gabe. Yeah, that was her plan. So she waited for a moment. When she heard the door open, she turned to it. Dionysus and Chiron were exiting the Big House, talking about some troublemaker . Well, it was more like Dionysus ranting about some stupid kid to Chiron. When they descended the stairs, Gwendolyn smiled at them. "Hello, Mr. D," she said. "Nice day, isn't it?" He glanced over at her, raising an eyebrow. It wasn't really a nice day. Sure, it was beautiful out, but it was also hot as Hades. "I suppose, Guinevere," he replied. "It's Gwendolyn," she told him. He ignored her though as him and Chiron kept walking. Why does he always call people by the wrong name? she asked herself. But she knew why. He hated working at Camp Half-Blood, he hated the children - except for his, of course. But the feeling was mutual. Not many of the campers liked him either. He was such a grumpy face.
When the two got far enough away, Gwendolyn raced up the steps of the porch and darted inside. she looked around for a moment. Gaber certainly wasn't anywhere in this part of the house. It'd be too obvious. She paused, wondering if she could maybe hear him walking around anywhere. She didn't hear that, but she did hear a soft voice coming from the attic. As far as she could tell, it wasn't Gabe's voice. but she was still suspicious. Almost nobody went up in the attic, creeped out by the oracle of Delphi. then the thought occurred to her. He didn't! she thought to herself. But she was almost sure that he did.
Gwendolyn shrugged it off and headed towards the attic door. She climbed the stairs, careful to stay quiet. Once she reached the door, she opened it slowly. Yeah, Gabe was definitely up there... and he wasn't alone. The oracle of Delphi was up. Gwen screamed, now understanding why people thought it was so creepy. It was a terrifying sight. she would never admit it out loud, but the scream would probably say that for her.
It wasn't long after Gwen entered the attic that the oracle went back to her resting place. She could hear the mummy's words floating through the air, the prophecy.
When the room as plunged into silence, she noticed that her mouth had dropped open and she was shaking slightly. She tried to collect herself as she looked over at Gabe. "What.. the hell.. was that?" she asked, even though she knew exactly what it had been. The oracle had spoken another prophecy. They had to tell Chiron about this. and since her scream had been pretty loud, she guessed that their activities director was on his way back to the Big House.

] a warning to the ( p r o p h e t ), the ( l i a r ), the ( h o n e s t ) THIS IS WARJoshua could hear some of the campers from another cabin complaining about how irritable his father was, and he laughed to himself, though he was careful not to let them hear him, because he wasn't in the mood for a physical confrontation. He had his bow with him as usual, so he wasn't afraid, he just didn't feel like fighting. But he was ever so amused by how much everyone but he and his siblings seemed to dislike Dionysus. Then again, the guy was a grouch for the most part, but he was safe from that side, and so he didn't give a rats ass what everyone else thought. Not only that, but he was in a surprisingly brilliant mood today. A good mood was something he was rarely ever able to achieve, and so the grin that spread across his face was savored. He had actually managed to sleep through the night, and had woke up feeling more rested than he had in days, not to mention training had gone really well the day before, well enough that he'd allowed himself a little break, which he was savoring now. It was just after lunch, and so he was comfortably full, the weather was nice (in his opinion, at least, many people were complaining about the humidity and wiping sweat from their brow), and he had nothing better to do than to just sit and enjoy it.
However, he was momentarily distracted from his enjoyment from movement at the corner of his eye. Gabriel, what on Earth are you doing? he wondered, seeing the other boys silhouette in the rocking chair. The two had become friends over the course of a morning spent with the Pegasi. And to make matters worse, his gray eyes fell upon the figures of Chiron and Dionysus a moment later. They seemed to be discussing something, though at this distance he couldn't quite glean what it was. You're going to get caught, he smirked internally. But it seemed that the Demeter cabin leader noticed the two before they noticed him, and he dashed inside of the house. But Chiron and Dionysus seemed to be heading toward the house as well. Did they see him or are they just up to business as usual? he wondered, then chuckled under his breath. Gabe, you are so screwed. However, when the two left the house, it was without the younger boy. Must be good at hiding, he remarked.
Spotting Gwen, his smirk melted into a slight grin, and he decided he was going to go over and see how she was doing. She said something to the two as they left. Obviously still unable to make out any conversation, Josh stood up from where he'd been resting in the grass and approached, grinning at Dionysus and Chiron as he passed and jerking a hand in greeting. He didn't make it obvious that he was heading in the direction of the house, not wanting any problems for his two friends, who had both went inside. It was just as he'd opened the door and slipped inside that he heard a scream. "Sweet Hades!" he cursed loudly, jumping. Damn it, Gwen! He was worried for her, though she was a daughter of Ares, he didn't like the idea of one of his friends getting hurt. So, discarding the thought of the Oracle, he followed the sound up toward the attic, reaching it just in time to catch the prophecy.
His eyes went wide as he spotted the Oracle of Delphi, and though he was hardly a coward, the sight of her made him a bit uneasy. Sweet Hades, I didn't believe them when they said she was scary, but holy fuck I totally get it now. He said nothing for a long moment, but he did catch Gwen's words, and his heart rate had increased a little as he glanced toward her. "You okay?" he asked Gwen. "I heard you scream when I got in the door, you nearly gave me a heart attack!" He leaned against the wall, then jumped slightly when he heard the door open downstairs. "And it sounds like my father and Chiron heard you, as well. You've got some killer vocals," he teased with a light laugh, in an attempt to break the tension

The sun was radiant, shining brilliantly in the sky above Camp Half-Blood. It seemed like such a beautiful day, at least from the inside. Out side was muggy and humid and Eve felt like she was dancing in a sauna. After a light lunch she had snuck behind the Mess Hall to let out some steam; that was Eve's first mistake. It was not only Eve's hair that was glittering in the sun - her forehead too had a sheer look to it, however it was not as pleasant to look at. It's hot as hell out here. I don't even need to warm-up. She held onto a scrawny looking branch of a nearby tree and began swinging her leg back and forth trying to hit her head. At least that was her goal. At the moment she could only reach eye level. Only.
If it was possible to Eve to perspire any more than she already was, she would become dehydrated. Realizing that it was somewhat stupid to do cardio outside when it was so hot, she placed her legs shoulder width apart and slowly lowered herself into the splits on the soft ground. She could feel short grass sticking to the bottom of her athletic shorts. Is it possible for even the grass to be sweaty? Although the grass was prickly and somewhat uncomfortable, Eve shifted her weight to her right side and leaned over, her left hand grabbing onto the top of her right foot and her ear touching her shoulder. She began humming to herself as she held the stretch and received a few curious looks as other campers took shortcuts to wherever they were headed.
Eve returned her torso to an upright position and repeated the stretch on her left side. It was then that she notice the familiar shadows of Chiron and Dionysus. She rolled her eyes as she saw the shadows continue on their 'merry' way. Part of her always wanted to have a confrontation with the likes of them - just for the entertainment value. She was curious as to the amount of lying and deception they shoved down others' throats on a daily basis. She chuckled inwardly, rather amused at the scene she was creating in her head. The scene involved the mentioned being gay lovers. Enough said. She smile grew across her face as she let out a small giggle. Now that was something that she wished to see. Unfortunately, she never would.
A shrill shriek broke Eve's train of thought. Effortlessly, Eve jumped from her feet and began running toward the sound originated - the house. Sprinting, she nimbly dodged a couple campers who were dwaddling about, enjoying the sunshine and the muggy weather. Eve dashed up the stairs and skidded to a halt. There appeared to be no one in the building. Cautiously, she opened the front door. She stood still in the foyer for a moment, the hairs on the back of her head sticking on end. Pull yourself together, Evie. It's probably some immature pre-pubescent eleven year old playing a trick on his friends. Her blue eyes darted around the room as she concluded that the shriek was indeed nothing to worry about. Just as Eve turned to take her leave, she heard a familiar voice coming from what sounded like the attic. Muffled, but familiar.
Tip-toeing yet dashing up to the attic, Eve followed Josh's voice. Reaching the door, she turned the golden knob and slipped inside. She saw Josh first, for he was the closest to the door and therefore the closest to Eve. As always, he has his bow with him. If there was someone who deserved one of those tacky, golden trophy awards, she felt that Josh deserved one for "HARDEST WORKER". Her eyes then darted to Gabe and then to Gwen. Order of elimination and common sense said that the unearthly sequel escaped from Gwen's red lips. Concluding this, Eve couldn't help but raise a curious eyebrow. She was amused and slightly intrigued. She had never formally met Gwendolym Chipperfield, however this daughter of Ares had a reputation.
"Really, Chipperfield?" Eve said in a bemused tone, crossing her arms over her chest and putting her weight on her right hip, "From what I've been told you have a quite a pair; I didn't expect a sound like that coming from you. It sounds like you've seen the Oracle of Delphi or something. Are you alright?" Although her tone was light hearted and slightly teasing, Eve was somewhat concerned. No child of Ares screamed like that, especially not Gwen. Eve then assumed that Josh too heard the sound and came running up.

Gabe just looked shocked at Gwen, he hadn't really seen her sneak in, and judging by her scream there was going to be more company. Gabe opened his mouth to shut her up, he knew Mr. D and Chiron would be coming back any second now, but Gabe's thought was cut short by Josh appearing behind her. Gabe had a slight vacant look to him, not really sure how to stand, or how to talk at the moment. He didn't really hear what Josh said, but knew that it was probably something witty. He slowly turned around and saw the Oracle, looking serene, like she hadn't just told him Gwen would be leading them to a quest where they might die. He could also see her corpse like appearance, a little to well for anyones liking. he shuddered as he slowly came back into the real world and out of the haze he had been in for the past couple seconds since he saw the Oracle.
He gave them a weak smile, opening his mouth to ask what to do, but Eve walked into the attic. She seemed pretty sweaty, but defiantly oblivious to what just happened which was reflected in her question. He stared at her blankly. "Speak of the shriveled up prune!" He said sounding like himself again and not feeling like he could faint. He hadn't realized he had been holding his breath so he let it out in a long sigh. he also understood that Josh was hinting at when he mentioned Mr. D ad Chiron coming back. He smirked and ruffled Gwens hair. Gabe knew that she wouldn't like that at all, but he knew human contact was always better that thinking about an almost dead oracle. "I am sure that they are probably marching back right now to hear you vocals again.... or not, both are probably. He said as he sat on a trunk that was farther away from the Oracle and her creepiness.
Gabe looked through the opening in the attic trap door and he heard the voices of Mr. D bitching about apollo campers and practicing their vocal abilities. He knew that they would have to agree on what to tell them, yes, they would say that they had been given a quest. Gabe paused for a moment, he had only given Gabe and Gwen a quest, it was up to the other two if they wanted to tag along with them. He wouldn't blame them for not going, being "shot down to their knees" is never a good prophecy quote. He looked at the three campers and asked the question that was on his mind. "what are we going to do now?" He didn't need to fill Eve in, he had been told the quest to his face, he didn't want to relive the moment again. He put his elbows on his knees and rested his head on both of his hands as he looked up to the faces of the Demigods. He gave a weak smile as he contemplated what to do next.

is it about time?OH, YES IT IS! IT REALLY IS!let's get this party started! MY HANDS ARE SHAKING! Gwendolyn jumped when the door to the attic opened. Dammit, Josh! she cursed in her head. Why'd he have to be all sneaky like that? she could tell that the sight of the oracle Delphi made him a bit uneasy though... so she wouldn't yell at him right now. Maybe later...
She had sort of been in another world before Josh's words snapped her out of it. Gwen had been really frightened and paranoid before, but she now went back to her normal, bitchy self. "Yeah, I'm fine," she answered, crossing her arms over her chest and straightening her posture. She grunted a little in distaste when Josh said he heard her scream when he was in the door. Probably means everyone around the Big House heard it too, she told herself. Her reputation would probably go down the toilet after this. Or the campers' fears of the Oracle would increase. Cause when a child of Ares is scared of something, you know it isn't pretty. Gwendolyn punched Josh on the arm lightly when he said she had killer vocals. "What're you talking about? Everything about me is killer!" she said, smirking and flipping her hair girlishly.
Since Gabe had been so silent, she had actually forgotten he was there. But her focus on him drifted when the attic door opened again. Damn! How many people were going to wander up here?! She guessed that the girl had heard her scream too and she was right, as usual. "Really, Chipperfield?" Gwen rolled her eyes at the girl, a smug look on her face. A small chuckle escaped through her lips when the girl said that Gwen had "quite a pair." She loved it when people talked about her like that. She found it amusing. "Nah, what you heard came from Josh over here," she said jokingly, elbowing Josh lightly. She was obviously joking about Josh doing the screaming, but she still didn't admit to it being her. She'd never admit to fear, never in a million years. "I'm fine nonetheless," she answered Eve's question. "And yes, speaking of the shriveled up prune, she's right over there." Gwendolyn pointed over at the disgusting mummy-looking corpse of the oracle. "Isn't she just looking smashing today?"
Gwen silently watched Gabe peek through the attic door, the voice of Dionysus reaching her ears. I guess Chiron and Mr. D are back, she told herself. She quickly came up with what to say to Chiron in her head. She'd need to get more information from Gabe too. He'd been up there longer than any of them had been. There had probably been something else said while he was alone with the oracle. Haha! That sounded dirty. Fucking gross! she mused to herself. Gwen snapped out of her thoughts when Gabe asked what they were going to do now. "Well I think it's obvious that we have to talk to Chiron," she said, twiddling her fingers a little. "We just need to tell him what the Oracle said." She apused for a moment, glancing at Gabe. "Everything the Oracle said. And then we can get this little quest started." She took on a smug look, holding her head high. She was adamant on leading this quest. She was easily the most powerful afterall. Well Gabe's powers are pretty impressive, she reminded herself. But would he be a good leader? Hell, she didn't know. She just wanted authority on this quest. she wasn't a god damn follower.
Gwendolyn glanced towards the trap door of the attic, hearing the voices getting closer. "I'm gunna go.. clear some stuff up," she told the group. She then opened the door and climbed down from the attic. There, she met Chiron and Dionysus. "Hello, fine sirs," she said, grinning. "How are ya today?"
Mr. D narrowed his eyes at her. "Please, Guinevere," he said grumpily. "I'm hardly in the mood for senseless small talk. What in Hades is going on?" Gwendolyn ignored him using the wrong name and just smiled. "Yeah, so sorry about that," she said. "That little scream you probably heard... Miss Hawkins got a little scared when she saw the Oracle. You know it isn't a pretty sight." Gwen didn't feel the slightest bit guilty about blaming the scream on Eve. She figured the girl wouldn't be happy about that, but it was expected. She could take on anyone at any time. She didn't care. "The Oracle?" Chiron said. He raised an eyebrow, looking a little suspicious of Gwen. "Yeah, the Oracle. She just gave us another prophecy. We can have everyone come down here and explain it all." Chiron nodded, his hooves clicking on the floor as he seemed to be getting a little anxious. "No worries, Chiron," she said, smiling at him. She then glanced up the stairs to the attic. "Come on down guys!" Yeah, nothing to worry about... unless you counted someone getting shot down and falling to their knees. And the part that said one may fall. Yeah, everything was just dandy! T A G G E D gabe, josh, and eve! W O R D C O U N T 839! ] a warning to the ( p r o p h e t ), the ( l i a r ), the ( h o n e s t ) THIS IS WARPeople might judge her negatively by the screaming, Joshua realized slightly when he heard her grunt of distaste. Oh well, I know my opinion won't change. His gaze swept back over to the Oracle for a moment, confirming that thought. She is incredibly creepy. I don't know what I'd have done if she caught me off guard. He wasn't really the screaming type, but he probably would have cussed loud enough to bring a few people to his attention. He had some violent selections of colorful curse words, some involving the gods, some which he'd picked up in the mortal world, and he sure didn't use them sparingly. Anything which scared him got an earful of his brilliant word-choice. "I'll give you that one," he grinned, nodding to Gwendolyn when she said that everything about her was killer. That was true, she was a daughter of Ares after all, so she was pretty impressive. He usually didn't like to admit compliments about other people, but he considered Gwen as a friend of his, and so he wasn't going to deny it.
Joshua turned his attention back to the door when he heard footsteps, assuming they were going to have to explain to Dionysus and Chiron about the screaming, and the reasoning for the four of them to be up in the attic with the Oracle of the Delphi. But no, it was upon Eve which his gray eyes fell, and they widened slightly in surprise, his brows arching. "Damn, you heard it too?" he laughed. "She certainly does," he smirked a little, amused at the thought. "More than some of the guys in this place, even." And he wasn't just talking about the gay ones. Some of the demigods were pathetic pacifists. They were probably only laid-back because they didn't know how to fight, not because they didn't like it. He didn't understand how anyone could hate fighting! It was so exhilarating! He punched Gwen lightly on the arm when she jokingly blamed the scream on him. "Guilty as charged," he replied, raising his hands in a mock-gesture of admitted defeat. "I can pull a great damsel in distress tone when need be."
Josh laughed when Gwen spoke. "Anything that stunning deserves an award." He was glad the tension was breaking at least a little. He didn't like uncomfortable situations.
"Well it's not like we can just pretend nothing happened," Joshua pointed out when Gabe asked the three of them what they should do. "And hell, if you two are going, I'm coming with you." He cracked his knuckles, moved away from where he was leaning against the wall. He had his bow strung across his back, as always. Even though he hadn't been practicing, he was hardly ever seen without it. You never knew when a moment could catch you by surprise, and he wanted to be ready. This hadn't exactly been the moment he'd been expecting, but it fell under the category nevertheless. "Why the hell would we leave anything out, anyways?" he chuckled, when Gwen emphasized "everything". Although, the "fall to their knees" bit had disturbed him a little, he wasn't going to chicken out. If his friends were going, it would be a tough task to convince him to stay behind. He liked Gabe and Gwen. He liked Eve, too, but she hadn't yet voiced whether she was accompanying them.
He nodded when she said she was going to clear stuff up. He could hear muffled voices coming from downstairs, then heard Gwen call loudly up to them. He had already started to leave the moment he heard her raise her voice, and so he reached the landing first, grinning. "What is this, Wheel of Fortune?" he asked teasingly. "Hey guys," he greeted his father and Chiron, going over to stand beside Gwen.
