Time: Before lunch Season: Early summer Weather: Sunny with no humidity - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Jake rolled his eyes. It wasn't like him to run away from his problems but it seemed like the right thing to do. He sat on a tree stump facing the camp, he was far enough away that he could only see that camp was just as busy as usual. He could see the hustle and bustle going on without him. He sighed, time waited for no one. Jake had a bad week, it was only Tuesday but he could tell it wouldn't get better. He had a major headache and had cuts and bruises from training. He had been pushing himself too hard lately. Jake couldn't remember his last break. He let his hand droop to his sides as he pondered what was happening at the camp. It probably didn't really matter, maybe the Hermes campers causing trouble but nothing more interesting than that.
Jake could feel the bark of the stump he sat on, it reminded him how primitive camp was. Jake stood from the tree stump and paced around it. The woods gave him a calming surrounding, the light filtered through the trees, casting a soft green glow. Jake kicked up a pile of twigs on the ground in frustration. He hadn't actually slept in two days, his week started with someone else's nightmares. He cursed his real father, Jake didn't fully understand his own power or his limitations. He had to escape camp for a couple hours to try and catch up on some deprived sleep. Jake stopped pacing and looked around the clearing was in. He shook his head and laughed at himself.
Jake wasn't an animal, he couldn't just lie down and sleep. He wrapped his arms around himself feeling a cold gust of wind on his back. He cursed Zeus in his head as he walked over to a patch of sunshine. Jake debated his options. On one hand, I could just suck it up and sleep, but there is no telling when I might wake up. But on the other hand... Jake shuddered at the thought of trying to fall asleep in his cabin again. He couldn't watch another nightmare. It is one thing to have your own nightmare, but it is totally different to witness someone else's. Jake could clearly see the last dream he was sucked into, he couldn't stand another one. Jake cursed himself, he couldn't control his power, and since the new camper moved in... well a nine year old halfblood having nightmares of being killed by monsters various ways is normal, especially when they almost die on their way to a safe place. Jake walked a little closer to camp, making sure that he wasn't in the eye sight of any campers. He sat behind a shadowed tree, and closed his eyelids. Jake smiled as he slowly was lulled to sleep. That is until he heard footsteps approaching him.

Blake was sitting on his bed in the Hades cabin, listening to his mp3 player. The song was "On My Own" by Three Days Grace, Blake's all-time favorite band. He started to hum along. After all, he was alone at the moment. Well...technically, he wasn't. But his only sibling was asleep, so he considered himself alone. He'd done this for a couple nights now. He worked out hard during the day, but at night....he felt like an insomniac. It didn't really phase him. After all, as the son of Hades, the darkness healed and refreshed him. He didn't have a real need to sleep. In fact, he was so full of energy that he got up and left his cabin. He decided to take a walk through the forest. He walked...and walked....and walked, all the while listening to his mp3. Finally, he looked up at the sky and grimaced in shock. It was obviously around lunchtime now. Well, that would explain why he was hungry. He headed back toward camp when he saw someone sitting on a stump, apparently asleep. He was sure he recognized the guy. Yes....it was Jake, the son of Morpheus. He at first wanted to say hello, but then he decided he didn't want to wake up. But of course, clumsy Blake had to step on a twig, breaking it in half with a loud snap!
((OOC: Hope you don't mind me joining you. ^^))

Spike opened one of his eyes, he was on his way to sleep but cursed Blake silently as he straightened himself out. He grumbled sleepily as he finally opened both his eyes and took in the scene around him. He was semiconscious from lack of sleep but smiled tiredly at Blake. He looked up at the sun that shined warmly over the trees and some rays managed to creep through. He scratched his scalp and pulled out a stray leaf from his hair. He rolled his eyes as he flicked it to the ground. jake stood up and pulled up his jeans, he hated belts, they jabbed into his flesh when he wore them, but when he didn't wear them his pants tended to always slip down. He pulled down his T-shirt as he sat back on the stump facing Blake.
Jake spotted the earphones in his ear and decided not to risk saying anything an being unheard. He gave a simple wave as he contemplated how long he had been in the woods, maybe an hour. It was an hour of sleep he didn't have before though, which is what counted. Jake reached up to his eye to rub it, he found that icky yellow stuff in the corner of his eyes. He scowled a little as he rubbed it out, picking in public was just humiliating. Jake yawned covering his mouth. He slouched on the stump. He wasn't very close to Blake, well not really friends, but they knew each other. Maybe a hi or two over a year. He tried to remember who Blakes' God parent was. Jake drew a blank as he smiled at him trying to look like they were old friends. jake played with the beads on his necklace, it was quickly growing a little awkward.

And of course. Blake's clumsy self had accidentally awoken Jake. He spotted Jake's eyes lingering for a second on his earphones, then he waved at Blake. Blake took his earphones out of his ears and said, "Sorry I woke you up. Cursed tree branches... I always mange to step on them." Blake managed an apologetic grin, which was more than he usually did. He didn't smile, unless it was necessary or he just couldn't help it. Blake saw a bird flying overhead, and randomly wondered how a bird's system of flight was different from a bat's. Oh, well... He could figure that out later. What was important at the moment was the situation at hand. He started fidgeting a little. It was slightly starting to become awkward. "I've been out here all night," he told Jake, just to break the ice. "This place is really nice in the dark. Of course...as a son of Hades, I would think that. I'm sure most people probably prefer camp at daytime, since that's when everything goes on." Blake's mind was wandering again now. He kept noticing random little things, and one thought always lead to another with Blake. Then again...wasn't it that way with most demigods? After all, most demigods suffered from attention-defecit/hyperactivity disorder. When Blake was younger, he'd always taken the ADHD and dyslexia to be a curse...but now that he knew who was, he appreciated his disorders. They truly could be life-savers, in his opinion.

Jake smiled. "yah, no problem, I was probably going to miss lunch or something." Said Jake, it was probably Jake's fault for sleeping in the middle of the woods. He sighed and stood up slowly feeling the kinks in his body from not moving so long. Jake stretched releasing some of his bodies tension. He remembered now, Blake is a Son of Hades, go figure. thought Jake innocently as he stood next to the stump not knowing what he should do next. He found it odd that the boy had just been wandering about, and not noticed the change in lighting or animals, especially since almost all halfbloods have ADHD. Jake gave up on thinking, his brain was over tired and quickly using after what seemed like a tease of a sleep wasn't the best idea.
"What were you up too?" Jake didn't want to be rude and let the awkwardness increase, he found it odd, he was usually good with people, it was probably just his off day. Jake could feel the pull of sleep trying to take him back to sit down on the stump. Jake stood standing, he knew he would sleep almost instantly when he was comfortable enough. Jake looked behind him to see the camp still going about it's business. He wondered how it would feel to feel that time go by, Jake shuddered, he hated the Titans. Chronos made Jake's skin crawl, he tried to think of a new topic but the only other thing he could think of was that his dad was a jerk for fighting with him. Jake turned to look at Blake once more, he gave another friendly smile... Man was he tired.

Blake grinned a little. "Yeah.... I love lunch. To me, it's the best meal of the day. And I myself am starving," he said, moving his hair over his left eye a little more. It was quiet for another moment, but then Jake asked him what he had been up to. "Oh, um.... Truth be told....I couldn't sleep," Blake admitted. "I got a little restless, so I just decided to walk it off. Let's just say it didn't work too well." For some reason, Blake started thinking about his father, Hades. It was strange. He'd been thinking about his father a lot more than per usual lately. Maybe it was sign. But then again, maybe it wasn't. It was pretty confusing. All Blake knew was that he'd hardly ever thought about Hades, and now all of a sudden, he was thinking about him pretty often. He wondered if he should go to the Underworld to meet his father. Hm.... Yes, he'd do that. Soon. And he definetely wasn't going alone, since he knew that his father could be...uh....unpredictable. Still, though, Blake figured he ought to at least meet him. After all, it would mean a lot to him. He knew Hades would never be able to be much of a father to him.... But he wanted to have the opportunity to at least meet him.

jake wobbled a little on his legs. "I know what not being able to sleep is all about." He couldn't keep the sarcasm out of his voice. He had different reason why he couldn't sleep, Jake was kept up by the constant dreams of his peers. He hated the night, everyone got to sleep, Except Jake always was left to watch them sleep. He had no control over his power yet, but every so often he might be able to manipulate someone's dream, but most of the time he is forced to watch whatever they dream. He chuckled about what he had seen over the course of his life. He had seen enough sex dreams and naked dreams to last him a life time. Jake didn't know how many more times he could watch Marc, one of his cabin mates, dream he was getting raped by his God parent. "Sleep is for the weak, and the smart." Said Jake dryly.
"I haven't heard any quests in a while? The oracle stays quiet... yet again." Said jake trying to start up an actual conversation. He raised his hand to block out the growing sunlight. He rested his hand on his forehead, he felt a little clammy. Never a good thing, Jake angled himself away from the sun as he played with his hair. He felt his spiked hair in the form of his usual mohawk still intact, he loved hair styling gel so much. He quickly put down his hand so not to mess it up.

Blake wasn't surprised that Jake couldn't sleep. He was a son of Morpheus, so he probably could look into peoples' dreams. And judging from the circumstances, Blake had a funny feeling that Jake couldn't exactly control it that well. Blake, however, had almost perfect control over his powers. He'd spent a lot of time practicing with them. After all, his powers were pretty...ah...dangerous. So, naturally, he had wanted to get control over them before he accidentally hurt someone with them. "Hm, you have point there," Blake admitted. "Although...and believe me, I hate bragging...but I think I'm very smart, and I don't really need a ton of sleep in order to function. But then again, some people are just like that. I think it's just an effect of me being Hades' kid, though." In fact, Blake was certain now that he didn't sleep much because of Hades. Oh, well. A lot of things came from him being Hades' kid. His appearance being just one example. "Heh...yeah," Blake said. "The oracle isn't very....talkative. Although, I really hope I get a quest. I'm sure I will eventually, being a 'Big Three' child. I think it would be pretty likely." And so he did. Blake did truly want a quest...to prove himself. Not only to Hades, but to himself. How many times had he been considered an emo freak? He wanted to prove to himself that he was a little more than just some emo son of the death god.

Jake smirked at Blake's confidence. He knew how it felt to be expected to fit a certain role. You would guess that being a halfblood would be cool. Jake knew otherwise, if your Olympian parent isn't a main god then you are expected to achieve nothing. He didn't know how it felt to be a child of the big three, probably something to do with meeting a set standard. Jake rolled his eyes, he nodded as Blake spoke. Jake paused as he just realized how hyper Blake was. For an emo looking kid he was pretty enthusiastic. Jake smiled, it was probably hard to be an emo kid with ADHD. Jake tried not to laugh, picturing some emo kid bouncing off the walls. He suppressed a chuckle with no avail, he made the escaped laughter sound like a cough.
"When did you learn you were a son of Hades?" Jake surprised himself with this question. It came out of the blue, but he was glad he asked it. Many of the kids were claimed when they turned 13, but some occasions they are claimed before that. He can't remember ever talking to Blake this much ever, it was pretty cool, better than watching dream after dream, it was even a little scary. Jake shuddered not wanting to openly think about what his powers did to him. Jake started to sway from one foot to the other, trying to stay awake but becoming increasingly difficult in the nice warm weather. his feet were starting to fall asleep but he was trying to appear alert. It was unfair, how could his real dad put up with the constant flow of dreams and sleep?

Wynter She was running for dear life. Something was chasing her...what? She let out a high-pitched scream as she tripped over something. A root. She landed face first in the dirt. She turned around and let out a wail. There, standing before her...was her father...
"When did you learn you were a son of Hades?" The words brought her to reality. She quickly sat up, her breath caught in her throat, her heart beating a mile a minute. She looked around for the voice. The person who saved her from her nightmare. The one that never seemed to end...
She finally saw two boys. One was her half brother, Blake...or whatever his name was. The other was a boy. The child of...oh...what was his name....Morpheus! He must've been the one to ask the question. She silently thanked him, before getting up, and walking over to the two.
WIth her eyes half closed, she approached them. "Hey Blake." She muttered, with a small wave of the hand. She looked to the other. "Thank you." She smiled before turning back to her half brother. "Please tell me you're not flirtin with boys again? It sorta creeps me out." She laughed, punching him in the arm. "Just kidding. You know I love ya." Wynter pulled her hat a little farther down.
"Anyhow, to make a long story short, Andee Fei. Daughter of Hades."[/blockquote] Clicky!!

Jake tried to remain standing. he could feel the tug of a close dream, but he didn't know from where, he would normally run in the opposite direction but he didn't want to freak out Blake. jake opened his eyes, but his vision was quickly fading, he could see the outline of blake, but it was blurry. Jake sat where he was and attempted to look normal, like he was just sitting. As his vision was fading, he could start to see the dream the person was having. He quickly could not see Blake at all, but Hades. jake witnessed the girls dream secondhand. He watched as the girl ran through the forest with Hades effortlessly keeping up. Jake cried out for the girl to watch but as usual he had no effect on the dream. He watched helplessly as she fell and screamed. Jake couldn't watch anymore, he took a deep breath as he tried to pull back to reality. He could see blake where he was before. He sighed as he felt the sweat prickle his hairline.
Jake repeated himself "When did you learn you were a son of Hades?" Jake looked around, his vision still blurry but slowly returning. Jake could still feel the link with the girl stil, she was awake, his smile broadened, he successfully pulled out of the dream. He didn't know who the girl was but he did know she was daughter of Hades. Seconds later the girl showed herself. He smiled trying to seem ignorant. Jake chuckled as she joked. "Nice to meet you, My name is Jake." He said simply. "And i would be a little creeped out as well." He added with a smile on his face. Jake left out he was a son of the god of sleep and dreams, trying to keep himself innocent. Jake gave her a smile, he didn't recognize her, but it might have been the hat. He couldn't see her face very well, Jake desperately wanted something to hide his face. He had a very terrible poker face, he didn't know how long he could talk without showing or saying something that related to her dream, he could feel his blood slowly rise to his face. He looked away, he concentrated hard not to blush but it was too late. He hated invading peoples privacy.
